Hello, beautiful soul.
I'm Melissa , a.k.a. The Sleepy Wildflower. I have been writing and drawing since I was a wee one. I wrote, illustrated and sold my first book, made of tattered red construction paper, when I was seven years old.
I am inspired by life (the messy bits and all) and nature. I like to think that I create my best work when the skies are temperamental and the rain is pouncing against my windows. I wholeheartedly believe there's beauty to be seen within the cracks of darkness.
Art is my survival guide. It saves me time and time again; from depression, anxiety and times of feeling lost. With every stroke of my pencil, I get closer to coming back to myself.
Writing is my therapy. It makes me feel free. With every word that I write, I find solace in the curves of each letter.
I purposely carry my heart on my sleeve and I deeply connect with others who do the same. My hope is that my work feels like a big hug for those who need it; a hug from both me and Mother Nature.
Stay wild beautiful child,
Melissa, The Sleepy Wildflower

Well, this is awkward.
If you would like to be the first name on this list, you're going to have to wow me with your interest in my work. First, I wow you with my work. Then you wow me with your interest. Deal?
